Post 2

Friends are one thing in the world we should all be happy for. My quote this week is: "A friend is the one who comes in when the whole world has gone out." by Grace Pulpit. I almost cried reading this quote because it brought back memories of the good and bad times and how my friends have been there all the way through.

Over the course of my life, I had lost two official best friends. And for both times, I blamed myself for the split and just felt so depressed thinking I was the one of the worst persons. But my true friends that have stuck by my side the whole way through helped bring me out of the darkness and into the light. And as cheesy as it sounds, it's probably about to get cheesier. Like ordering a double cheeseburger from Mcdonald's but not having enough time to eat it and then going home to discover the cheese had become soggy and nasty so you had to add more cheese to your double cheeseburger to make it taste good again. Yes, that kind of cheesy.

I could never really express how happy and grateful I am to have the friends that I do. At times I would take them for granted and not realize all the amazing things they had done for me so then I step back and take a look at my life once more again. It is always nice for any one person to have that one person they can confide in and trust with their secrets and stresses. If I never had anyone to vent to I am pretty sure I would have killed myself or ended up in an insane asylum by now. As dramatic as that sounds, it is probably the truth. No one should ever have to be alone and keep all their secrets to themselves in this world. Especially when you have a stressful and hectic life where things just get too much to handle at times. Whether that person be a family member a friend or even a random stranger, we all need that one person. In fact, any person who has been there when the whole world has gone out can be considered a friend in my book. Unless they are very scary and secretly a zombie to eat your brains, then I am sure they probably don't want to be your friend.

That is why when your world is dark and lonesome just look to a friend who can guide you through the dark path with their flashlight of advice and map of listening. Now, that was pretty corny I chuckled writing it but it is the truth. Don't ever keep things inside when you can have a friend that you can let the bottle out to and will be there when the whole world has gone out on you. For better or for worse, this is friendship. (I thought of that as a sort of vow you tell your friends before becoming friends.) lol

  1. Ahaha Great Post :) Your loose style and randomness made it fun to read, "Secretly a zombie to eat your brains." I agree that true friends are the ones that stay with you through thick and thin. If they leave you to die, they arent your true friends. Thanks for the insight!

  2. You're essay was quite fun to read!:)You addressed the quote in such a casual way that it made the essay fun to read. I totally agree with the quote you picked. This quote is pretty close to my heart. I do have a best friend who has stuck by me through thick and thin since 2005. Without friends life would be so much more difficult. I love how you use an example of how cheesy all this is by saying it's kind of like putting extra cheese on your soggy cheeseburger. Overall, an amazing post!

  3. I loved your essay it was funny, especially the reference to the double cheese burger. Hahaha. I can really relate to this. I can't tell you how many times i have lost so called "friends" which is not a bad thing because they weren't true friends but I am happy now that I do have true friends who are there when I just need to talk. The true friends stick around no matter what.

  4. I loved the quote you chose and it’s so true, your real friends will be there for you in the good times and the bad, and if they’re not there for you then they weren’t your real friends to begin with. Why would someone want to be with those so called “friends” anyways? Your post made me laugh (especially in the part with the soggy cheese) and it also made me realize how lucky I am to have my friends. Overall, I loved your post and the thought you put into it.
